Plugins

I’ve always enjoyed making software. Starting with ‘The Games Factory’ back in the day, I soon upgradied to BlitzBASIC to make simple BASIC games and apps, and then it was SynthEdit after I started getting into music properly.

Nowadays, its all about C++ (and Max/MSP) for me – all the plugins below are created in C++. All coding and graphics have been done by me. They are free to download and use. You can distribute them but please don’t edit the .zip file, or add on some lame adware infested download manager! I would prefer it if you provided a link to this page if you are distributing via the web, so as people can obtain the latest version.

The Mid-Sider v1.0

‘The Mid-Sider’ is a plugin for decoding mid-side type stereo recordings. If you don’t know what that is, go Google it and find out more. Simply drop this over a stereo bus with your mid and side channels. By default, the plugin presumes you have your mid channel panned fully left, your side channel panned fully right, and you had the side microphone’s front (or positive) side facing left during recording.

The Pilgrim v2.0

This plugin has a highpass & lowpass filter programmed into one dial, and allows a seamless sweep between the two. It works similar to the ‘Pioneer DJM’ mixers, albeit with a little extra functionality: a wet/dry dial which can also be used as a basic equaliser/shelf filter. The frequency pass range is from 60Hz (lowpass) to 19kHz (highpass). You can also control it with your MIDI controller.

The Function v1.1

‘The Function can manipulate a stereo signal giving complete control over the output. Each channel (left & right) can be manipulated independently  You can pan each channel to either speaker, and invert the phase. This is very useful for dodgy recordings with phase and pan issues.
